Investment commitments involving private participation in low and middle-income countries for energy, transport and water infrastructure totaled US$36.7 billion across 132 projects in H1 2017. While this marked an increase of 24 percent over H1 2016 levels, it is still 15 percent lower than the half-year averages of the past five years.

The US$71.5 billion committed across 242 projects in 2016 represents a 37 percent decline compared to 2015 and a 41 percent decline to the annual average of US$121.4 billion over 2011 to 2015.
